2026 Deniliquin Easter Art Prize
Winners and Commendations
We are thrilled to announce the winning artworks in the 2026 Deniliquin Easter Art Prize.
The $17,000 in prizes were awarded by renowned artist and judge Antoinette Blyth, and local professional photographer Harry Kenny-Herbert.
The Major Prize was awarded to Nina Volk, for her watercolour featuring a field of cattle, titled ‘Grazing in the Mist’. Antoinette commented that the work ‘demonstrates the beauty of the watercolour medium perfectly.’
The other major open prizes were awarded to celebrated Balranald artist Jan Lawler, for her atmospheric oil painting ‘Brolgas’ and to John Orlando Birt, for his watercolour painting of ‘Pellestrina, Venice’.
The judge awarded the prize for Local Artist to Ginny Reid, for her ‘confident and harmonious’ acrylic painting of the Bullatale Creek, titled ‘Yabby Time’.
Mathoura artist Evo Kreykes and Brad Wilson from Barellan were awarded the Youth Artist prizes.

Best Photography to Chris Filshie for ‘Silvereye’

Best Sculpture to Stuart Taylor for ‘Rusty Rooster’

Best Ceramics and Textiles to Sue Bentley for ‘Meeting Of The Minds’.
The People's Choice was voted by visitors over the weekend who selected 'Pink Galahs' by Stuart Taylor for the prize.
About the Deniliquin Easter Art Prize
The Deniliquin Easter Art Prize is a long-running community arts event, celebrating 33 years of creative talent.
Presented by the Edward River Art Society and the Rotary Club of Deniliquin, the Prize attracts artists from across the country. The exhibition consistently generates strong artwork sales, giving artists exposure to engaged regional buyers.
Supported by dedicated volunteers, professional judges, and generous sponsors, the Prize has grown from a small local show into a respected annual exhibition on the regional arts calendar.
